Cara J. Nordin BSc, DPT
Cara graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2012. During her course work, she accumulated over 1500 hours of practical experience in orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, and integumentary physiotherapy. Upon graduating, Cara accepted a position at El Paso Children’s Hospital working with patients who had orthopaedic, neurological, and integumentary conditions. Cara also worked as an acute care physiotherapist at University Medical Center of El Paso treating adults with various injuries and medical issues. As the Physiotherapist for the Occupational Rehabilitation (OR) program at Drake Medox Health Solutions, Cara uses an active rehabilitative approach while providing her clients with the tools required for a durable return to work.
Tyler Evans MSc PT, MClSc Manipulative Physical therapy, BSc Kin, FCAMPT, CAFCI
Tyler completed his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy and gained experience working in multidisciplinary clinics, outpatient orthopaedics, and private orthopaedic and sports clinics. He has been committed to education, gaining certifications in acupuncture and trigger point dry needling, and completing a Masters of Clinical Science in Manipulative Physical Therapy. His practice is focused on active movement based rehabilitation that promotes independence and self-efficacy. Manual Therapy and Dry Needling is used as an adjuvant to enable pain free active treatment.
Thomas Grunling BScPT, BPE
After graduating from the University of Alberta with a degree in Physical Education and Physical Therapy, Thomas went on to work for the Worker’s Compensation Board of Alberta where he was given the opportunity to perform a variety of services ranging from Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) to Worksite Visits, to working on an Occupational Rehabilitation program all the while continuing to complete leadership courses and ongoing Physiotherapy education. As one of the team Physiotherapist for the Occupational Rehabilitation program and the Clinical Coordinator at Drake Medox his focus is one active rehabilitation, to work as an integrated team member and liaise with other interested parties to facilitate the goals of the client.
Marilyn Purdy MScPT, B.Kin
Marilyn graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a Masters of Science Degree in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from the University of The Fraser Valley in 2007. Marilyn's focus is on treating complex orthopaedic conditions.
She has completed graduate training in Neuroproprioceptive Taping for sports injuries and orthopedic conditions. Marilyn is in the process of completing Level 2 in Manual and Manipulative Therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of The Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has a special interest in pre and postpartum conditions and has completed specialized training in the area of evaluating and treating sacroiliac and pubic pain issues.
When not in the clinic, Marilyn can be found spending time in active pursuits with her husband and 3 kids, snowboarding, wakeboarding and playing slo-pitch
Devendra R. Mitra BSc(Kin), PK – BACK, CSCS - NSCA
Dev has been involved in rehabilitation, sports and fitness for more than 30 years as a participant, instructor, educator, administrator, volunteer or trainer. Dev is registered with the B.C. Association of Kinesiologists as a Practicing Kinesiologist as well as being certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dev also holds advanced certifications in Sports Conditioning and Corrective Exercise. Dev joined the Drake Medox Kamloops team in 2002 as the Kinesiologist for the OR2 program and has considerable experience with Exercise Therapy, Job Site Visits, Job Demands Analysis’, Return to Work Planning and Pre-employment Testing. Dev is also a Certified DCAT assessor.
